The Meadows Center and the Hill Country Alliance will host a moderated panel discussion, “Managing Groundwater in Travis County: How, Why and Where?”, on March 7 from 6pm to 9pm at the Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center to provide insight on the newly constructed Southwestern Travis County Groundwater Conservation DistrictPanelists and speakers for the event include:

  • Paul Workman, State Representative
  • Sarah Rountree Schlessinger, Executive Director - Texas Alliance of Groundwater Districts
  • Brian B. Hunt, Senior Hydrogeologist - Barton Springs/Edwards Aquifer Conservation District 
  • Vanessa Puig-Williams, Counsel – Puig-Williams Law 
  • Michael Gershon, Principal - Lloyd Gosselink Rochelle & Townsend, P.C.

Discussions will focus on efforts to preserve groundwater as well as water-related issues facing residents in Travis County. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet candidates running for positions on the Southwestern Travis County Groundwater Conservation District Board of Directors.

The event is an excellent opportunity for residents to hear from the officials who will govern the Southwestern Travis County Groundwater Conservation District and gain valuable information on what they can do to help water conservation efforts in Travis County.

Following the panel discussion, all are invited to attend the reception where there will be refreshments and snack foods.
